HOOPSTARS SUMMER SLAM

We are so excited to kick off the first week of our Summer Slam camp days tomorrow. We have a few spaces left to book over the summer holidays on the dates below:

Week 1:

  • Wednesday 19th August - ALL girls age 8 to 18

  • Friday 11th August - Y1 to Y6

Week 4:

  • Monday 14th August - Y1 to Y6

  • Wednesday 16th August - Y7 to Y13 (funded spaces only)

Week 5:

To book on to our camp days please visit our website here. The camp days cost £25 per day. If you wish to purchase a t-shirt you will need to make an additional payment of £5.

We do have some funded places available for those eligible for free school meals; these can be booked via EveryMove on the links below:

The camp is run at City Academy Norwich from 9am until 3.30pm.

INTRODUCTION TO COACHING BASKETBALL AWARD (LEVEL 1)

Introduction to Coaching Basketball Award (level 1) - LAST FEW SPACES AVAILABLE!

We are hosting our first ever Introduction to Coach Basketball Award, which is the new level 1 course. The course will take place at City Academy on Saturday 29th July 2023, provisional times are set as 9am - 3pm. We are working in collaboration with Sport Structures to provide the course to our members, with each participant place coming at a cost of £95.

The course has been developed to provide learners with the confidence to deliver safe, fun and inclusive basketball sessions under the supervision of an independent coach.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of the Coach Assistant.

  • Identify how to create a great participant experience in Basketball.

  • Identify the basic principles of the game.

  • Identify the core skills needed to play the game.

  • Develop ideas on how to deliver safe, fun and relevant game.

  • Have confidence to deliver to small groups.

Learners must:

- Be at least 14 years of age - if you would like to be considered the course and are not yet 14, please let us know and we can see if you can consider, based off your current basketball experience.

If is recommended that learners have access to a mentor to support their development as a Coach Assistant. Claire is able to support learners in their development to obtain their qualification if required.

PERFORMANCE TEAM KIT SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY

We currently have sponsorship opportunities for the new kits we will be purchasing ahead of the 2023/2024 season. The teams kits are:

  • U12 Norfok League x 2

  • U16 NBL

  • Hoopstars Men x 2

The sponsorship package for 1 x team kit is £500 and will include a logo on back of each shirt alongside promotion on social media as a partner of Norfolk Hoopstars.

LOST PROPERTY

We have gathered a lot of lost property over the last year! If any of the pictured items belongs to you please email us to claim it and we will ensure it gets returned. We will also be displaying these items over the summer at camp days to try to reunite it all with its owners!

UNPAID FEES

As we have reached the end of the basketball year we are currently doing an audit of unpaid fees. We will be sending out emails to inform anyone who owes anything in the next few weeks. If you are aware of any unpaid fees you have please make the payments asap.
