About Norfolk Hoopstars

Norfolk Hoopstars Basketball C.I.C

Founded by Claire Harper-Black in July 2021, Norfolk Hoopstars is a community interest company dedicated to increase basketball participation across Norfolk for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Our core objective is to create a fun and vibrant learning environment within our sessions, aiming to inspire people from all walks of life to enjoy the sport of basketball. We take pride in our coaching expertise, session content, and robust infrastructure, all designed to maintain engaging and inclusive basketball experiences for everyone.

Since the club founded in 2021, we have experienced remarkable growth, significantly enhancing basketball participation throughout Norfolk in alignment with our club's mission statement. Starting with sessions in a single location, we have expanded our reach to offer an impressive 48-50 weekly sessions, engaging approximately 600 participants each week.

In 2023, our achievements include the establishment of 9 performance teams, the operation of 14-16 community hub locations, and working with 16 schools, providing a multitude of opportunities for individuals to immerse themselves in the world of basketball.

Additionally, we proudly introduced our new format HBL (Hoopstars Basketball League), a platform designed to provide players aged U9 to U18 at each of our Community Hubs with valuable opportunities to participate in matches, acquire essential experience, and enjoy the game!

For our U9 & U11, each term will consist of 6 competition weeks per age group, offering players the chance to showcase their skills and compete at their best. For our U13, U15, and U18, we will return to our previous format, featuring one match per month. Members will sign up on a pay-and-play basis.
